SANTEE, Calif. -
Helix (La Mesa, Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat West Hills (Santee, Calif.), 35-0, on Saturday.
The Highlanders were up 21-0 at the half after taking the lead on a
Josh Harris touchdown pass to
Kendal Keys in the first quarter.
Helix expanded its lead to 28 points entering the fourth quarter. HHS scored once in the quarter on a
Michael Adkins touchdown run.
The La Mesa school's standout player in the win was Adkins. The senior running back ran for three touchdowns.
The Highlanders went into the matchup giving up only 5.8 points per game. The Wolf Pack's zero points were well below their season average of 31.1 per game.
Helix also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 62-3.
With the win HHS extended its winning streak to four games.
West Hills (5-3) goes up against Granite Hills in a Grossmont - Hills game matchup next week, while Helix (6-1) locks horns with Grossmont also in a Grossmont - Hills game.
