Covington made up a huge gap compared to their last game against Lafayette, but they still couldn't quite topple them. Everything went Covington's way against Lafayette on Saturday as Covington made off with an 8-1 win. Considering Covington has won six matches by more than six runs this season, Saturday's blowout was nothing new.

Covington's victory bumped their record up to 8-2. As for Lafayette, their loss ended a four-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 6-3-1.

Coming up, Covington will challenge Northlake Christian at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lafayette, they will face off against Ville Platte at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
