Saddleback extended their losing streak to three on Wednesday, dropping them down to 1-11. They lost 19-8 to the La Quinta Aztecs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Aztecs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 19-4 on Monday.
Aimee Victoriano and Priscilla Alas Yacc stepped up to the plate in a big way. Victoriano went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base, while Alas Yacc went 2-for-3 with three runs, one stolen base, and one double. The team also got some help courtesy of Pricilla Hernandez, who went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
As for La Quinta, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-12. 19 seems to be a good number for them as the team scooped up a victory with the same number of runs in their previous game.
On La Quinta's side, Hailey Vega made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run over five innings pitched. Vega was also big at the plate, getting on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs. Those three runs gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Raellie Faatuga, who got on base in four of her five plate appearances with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Alaina Fayyaz was another key player, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with four runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Saddleback wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 14-4 loss against Magnolia on the 24th. As for La Quinta, they will host Estancia at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
