The Eugene Eagles will take on the Eldon Mustangs at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Eldon will take on a team with plenty of momentum: Eugene extended their winning streak to five on Tuesday. The Eagles never let Fayette get on the board and left with a 16-0 victory. The Eagles' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
Drew Hart made a big impact no matter where he played. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out nine batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs off three hits (and not a single walk). He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Eugene is 2-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 4-5 otherwise. Hart was also stellar in the batter's box, going a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. That's the most hits he has posted since back in April of 2024.

He has become a key player for Eugene: the team is undefeated when he posts at least three RBI, but 3-6 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jeffrey Schulte, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with four RBI, one run, and one double.
Eugene always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .720. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Eldon not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since March 22nd. They blew past Cole Camp 11-0. Considering the Mustangs have won four contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Eugene pushed their record up to 6-6 with the win, which was their third straight at home. The home victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 10.3 runs over those games. As for Eldon, their win ended a four-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 7-5.
Eugene couldn't quite finish off Eldon in their previous meeting back in April of 2024 and fell 4-2. Will the Eagles have more luck at home instead of on the road? Come back here after the game to get an analysis of the match and other baseball content.
