The Emerald Ridge Jaguars will head out to square off against the Rogers Rams at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Emerald Ridge has given up an average of 9.1 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.
Emerald Ridge is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to ten runs on Monday, they were much more limited against Graham-Kapowsin on Tuesday. They came up short against the Eagles, falling 14-2.
Jayda Guadron made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 1-for-2 with one run, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, while Rogers put up plenty of runs on Tuesday, the same can't be said for Olympia. The Rams blew past the Bears 12-0. The Rams might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by nine runs or more this season.
Addison Fredericks (2027) was incredible, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, two runs, and one triple. Aubree Pollard (2027) was another key player, going 2-for-3 with three RBI and one run.
Rogers was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .417. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Olympia only posted a batting average of .000.
Rogers pushed their record up to 12-3 with the victory, which was their eighth straight at home dating back to last season. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.6 runs on average over those games. As for Emerald Ridge, their defeat dropped their record down to 8-7.
Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Wednesday. Emerald Ridge hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.5 home runs per game. However, it's not like Rogers struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.6 home runs. With so much power on both teams, it'll be down to the pitchers to keep the mound locked down.
Emerald Ridge might still be hurting after the 18-2 loss they got from Rogers in their previous matchup back in March. Can the Jaguars avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
