Community School of Davidson and Langtree Charter are an even 5-5 against one another since December of 2017, but not for long. Christ the King typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Community School of Davidson proved too difficult a challenge. They skirted past the Crusaders 38-35. Given Community School of Davidson's advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 111th, while Christ the King is ranked 262nd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Community School of Davidson had a senior duo take command as Tyler Baughan scored 17 points along with six steals and five rebounds and Molly Feighery dropped a double-double on 13 points and 15 rebounds. Baughan is crushing the steal category: she's posted at least four every time she's taken the court this season. Scarlett Soares was another key contributor, scoring two points along with three steals.
Meanwhile, Langtree Charter suffered a tough 44-23 defeat at the hands of Mountain Island Charter on Friday.
Community School of Davidson pushed their record up to 20-1 with that victory, which was their eighth straight on the road. As for Langtree Charter, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-19.
Everything came up roses for Community School of Davidson against Langtree Charter in their previous matchup back in January as the team secured a 65-15 win. With Community School of Davidson ahead 46-5 at the half, the match was all but over already.
