The Madison-Grant Argylls's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Oak Hill Golden Eagles at 10:00 a.m. on December 30th. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.
Last Wednesday, Madison-Grant came up short against Tri-Central and fell 53-41.
Despite the loss, Madison-Grant had strong showings from Maddy Moore, who scored 11 points along with six assists and five rebounds, and Madalee Holloway, who scored 16 points. That's the first time this season that Holloway scored 15 or more points.
Meanwhile, Oak Hill also suffered a loss in their last game, but this one to Frankton by a score of 39-27. The loss unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Oak Hill in their matchups with Frankton: they've now lost four in a row.
Oak Hill's loss came about despite a quality game from Alivia Shaw, who scored six points. The team also got some help courtesy of Landri Hardman, who scored seven points along with three steals.
Madison-Grant's loss was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season, which bumped their record down to 5-8. As for Oak Hill, their defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-5.
Saturday's matchup is one where the number of possessions is likely to be a big factor: Madison-Grant have been smashing the glass this season, having only averaged 26.4 rebounds per game. It's a different story for Oak Hill, though, as they've been averaging only 24 rebounds per game. Given these competing strengths, it'll be interesting to see how their clash plays out.
Madison-Grant lost to Oak Hill on the road by a decisive 27-11 margin in their previous meeting back in November. Can Madison-Grant avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
