The Vincent Memorial Scots will be playing at home against the Calexico Bulldogs at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. One thing working in Vincent Memorial's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last five matchups.
Even though Vincent Memorial has not done well against Central recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Vincent Memorial walked away with a 64-55 victory over Central. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Vincent Memorial's success was spearheaded by the efforts of Manuel Talavera, who scored 18 points along with six rebounds, and Pancho Tejada, who scored 24 points along with five assists and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Oscar Garza, who scored four points along with five assists and three steals.
Meanwhile, Calexico unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They took a 67-49 bruising from Imperial.
Vincent Memorial is on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 12 matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Calexico, their loss ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 10-8.
Vincent Memorial was taken down by Calexico 75-46 when the teams last played back in February of 2022. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Vincent Memorial was down 40-19.
