The Parke Heritage Wolves will head out to take on the North Montgomery Chargin' Chargers at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. North Montgomery took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Parke Heritage, who comes in off a win.
Parke Heritage's pitching crew heads into the contest hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Thursday. They put the hurt on Cloverdale with a sharp 14-0 victory. The Wolves might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five matches by nine runs or more this season.
Braydon Goodwin made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over six innings pitched. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't given up more than one walk in six consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with two doubles, two RBI, and one run. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Renn Harper, who went 4-for-5 with three runs, four RBI, and one stolen base. Those three runs gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Lewie Woody, who went 3-for-5 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.
Parke Heritage was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .462. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cloverdale only posted a batting average of .053.
Meanwhile, North Montgomery was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were two runs away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-3 heartbreaker at the hands of Frankfort. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Chargin' Chargers have suffered against the Hot Dogs since April 27, 2022.
North Montgomery saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cayden Keller, who went 2-for-3 with two RBI.
Parke Heritage pushed their record up to 8-4 with the win, which was their fourth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.0 runs over those games. As for North Montgomery, their loss dropped their record down to 8-5.
Parke Heritage couldn't quite get it done against North Montgomery when the teams last played back in April of 2024 as they fell 12-8. Can the Wolves avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
