Softball Recap: Marriotts Ridge Gets the Win

While Marriotts Ridge's win against Atholton wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. Marriotts Ridge had just enough and edged out Atholton 6-5 on Wednesday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory Marriotts Ridge has posted since April 2nd.

Liv Ober spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and three unearned) runs on nine hits and racked up nine Ks.

At the plate, Gianna Peluso was incredible, going 1-for-3 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Biff Lorah, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases and one run.

Marriotts Ridge is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five games. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-6 record this season. Those wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Atholton, they have been struggling recently as they've lost seven of their last nine matchups. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-9-1 record this season.
