South Tahoe and Lowry squared off in some playoff action on Monday, but South Tahoe had to settle for second. They fell 45-38 to the Lowry Buckaroos. Despite the loss, South Tahoe still got an impressive performance from Campbell Mathews, who dropped a double-double with 24 points and 16 rebounds. Mathews has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last five times she's played. Milan Riva was another key player, putting up four points and nine boards.
Even though they lost, South Tahoe smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 15 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in four consecutive matchups.
Britain Backus was her usual excellent self, going 8-for-19 en route to 22 points in addition to eight rebounds and five steals for Lowry. That makes it 21 consecutive games in which Backus has scored at least a third of Lowry's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Natalee Formby, who posted ten points.
South Tahoe's record now sits at 13-11. As for Lowry, they are on a roll lately: they've won ten of their last 13 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 15-7 record this season.
South Tahoe does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Lowry, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next contest, a 61-55 loss against Churchill County on the 14th.
