Parrish Community won against Riverview Sarasota last Thursday with seven runs and they decided to stick to that run total again on Friday. The Bulls put the hurt on the Spoto Spartans with a sharp 7-1 victory. The Bulls might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.
Daniel Norbeck tossed a big game, striking out eight batters over six innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits. He also put up four walks, which were his first of the season.
At the plate, Jayden Peters and Nate Whitehead did most of the damage at the plate: Peters scored a run while going 2-for-3, while Whitehead scored three runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. What's more, Peters posted three RBI, the most he's had since back in February. Tyler Cripe was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-3.
Parrish Community always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Spoto only posted an OBP of .333.
Parrish Community has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won 11 of their last 12 games. That's provided a nice bump to their 17-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.5 runs on average over those games. As for Spoto, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 10-12.
Coming up, Parrish Community will challenge Palmetto at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Tigers will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something the Bulls surely won't give up without a fight. As for Spoto, they will host Lennard at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
