The Alexandria Valley Cubs will head out on the road to face off against the Jacksonville Golden Eagles at 6:00 p.m. on Monday. Alexandria is coming into the match on a three-game losing streak.
Last Friday, Alexandria took a serious blow against Southside, falling 60-20. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Alexandria has scored all season.
Meanwhile, Jacksonville really took it to White Plains for the full four quarters, racking up a 78-51 win at home. With Jacksonville ahead 43-21 at the half, the contest was all but over already.
Alexis Phillips was her usual excellent self, scoring 20 points along with six rebounds and six steals. That makes it four consecutive games in which she has scored at least 25% of Jacksonville's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Halaina Lozano, who scored 15 points.
Alexandria's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for Jacksonville, their win bumped their record up to 3-8.
Alexandria strolled past Jacksonville in their previous meeting back in November of 2021 by a score of 48-31. The rematch might be a little tougher for Alexandria since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
