The Lodi Flames will be playing in front of their home fans against the Tracy Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Lodi had to endure a four-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They claimed a resounding 48-0 victory over West at home. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as Lodi just coasted through the last quarter.
Lodi relied on the efforts of Drew Tetz, who gained 111 total yards and two touchdowns, and Cooper Mettler, who rushed for 147 yards and two touchdowns on only eight carries. Mettler's longest rush was for an incredible 74 yards. Alijah Diaz was another key contributor, rushing for 68 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
Lodi's defense stepped up as well, laying out the QB six times. The heavy lifting was done by Max Tovar and Desio Mendez who racked up four sacks between them.
Meanwhile, Tracy didn't have too much breathing room in their matchup against St. Mary's on Friday, but they still walked away with a 21-17 victory. 21 seems to be a good number for Tracy as the team scooped up a win with the same number of points in their previous game.
The victory got Lodi back to even at 4-4. Tracy has been no stranger to the win column this season, as they've started out with wins in six of their first eight contests, giving them a 6-1-1 record.
