Pahranagat Valley is a perfect 9-0 against Liberty Baptist Academy since May of 2021 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Thursday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Lynx recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.
The team relied heavily on Todd Hansen, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-3. Weston Dukes was another key player, scoring two runs while going 1-for-1.
Meanwhile, Liberty Baptist Academy waltzed into their match last Friday with two straight wins... but they left with three. They blew past the Lions 12-0. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won six contests by six runs or more this season.
Ryan Campbell was a major factor no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out nine over five innings pitched. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 1-for-4 with one triple and one run.
In other batting news, Jadon Noriega was excellent, scoring two runs while going 2-for-3. Those two hits gave him a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Bruce Delgado, who scored two runs while going 2-for-4.
Pahranagat Valley's record now sits at 9-5. As for Liberty Baptist Academy, their record is now 8-4.
Thursday's game might come down to which pitcher can control the ball better. Pahranagat Valley has hit smart this season, having averaged an OBP of .529. However, it's not like Liberty Baptist Academy struggles in that department as they've averaged .472. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Everything went Pahranagat Valley's way against Liberty Baptist Academy in their previous matchup back in April of 2024, as Pahranagat Valley made off with a 16-6 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Panthers since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
