After five games on the road, St. Augustine is heading back home. They will take on the San Antonio Christian Lions at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Augustine fell victim to Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial's stalwart defense back in January and couldn't make it onto the board. They were the victim of a rough 3-0 loss at the hands of the Eagles. While losing is never fun, St. Augustine can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas soccer rankings (they are ranked 723rd, while Corpus Christi Veterans Memorial is ranked 313th).
Meanwhile, San Antonio Christian came tearing into Friday's game with four straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 goals) and they left with even more momentum. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Saint Mary's Hall.
San Antonio Christian was led to victory by the tag-team duo of
Caleb Schuetze and
Ashton Salehi, who scored all three of San Antonio Christian's goals. The pair have combined for a total of 24 so far this season.
St. Augustine's defeat dropped their record down to 0-5. As for San Antonio Christian, they pushed their record up to 16-4 with that victory, which was their fourth straight at home.
