Jones is a perfect 3-0 against Lake View since May of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that dominance on Wednesday. The Eagles will host the Wildcats at 4:30 p.m. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Jones has three straight wins, Lake View has four straight defeats), but none of that matters once you're on the field.
Jones' pitching crew heads into the game hoping to repeat the dominance they displayed on Monday. Everything went their way against Chicago Academy as they made off with a 17-0 victory. Considering the Eagles have won ten contests by more than seven runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.
Nobody will forget Anna Black's heroic performance anytime soon (especially Chicago Academy's batters): she turned in a perfect game.
At the plate, Lucy Paskiewicz was incredible, firing off two home runs, three runs, and four RBI while going 3-for-4. Those two home runs gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Julissa Galvez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three stolen bases, three runs, and two RBI.
They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Jones kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 11 hits in three consecutive matches.
Meanwhile, Lake View scored the most runs they've had this season on Tuesday, but it wasn't enough. They fell just short of Prosser by a score of 16-15. Despite running the score up even higher than they did in their prior game on Monday (14), the Wildcats still had to take the loss.
Amani Giannopoulos and Natalie Benitez did some serious damage despite the final result: Giannopoulos went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI, while Benitez got on base in two of her four plate appearances with three runs and one stolen base. The team also got some help courtesy of Delilah Urcino, who earned one RBI and two runs.
Jones pushed their record up to 11-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight on the road. The road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 17.0 runs over those games. As for Lake View, their loss dropped their record down to 2-8.
Lake View's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Jones hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .462. It's a different story for Lake View, though, as they've only averaged .177. Will they be able to contain Jones' hitters?
Jones took their win against Lake View in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 by a conclusive 20-2 score. Will the Eagles repeat their success, or do the Wildcats have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
