In other batting news, Callie Exarchakis was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI. Gabby Schaeffer was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one stolen base, one double, and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Middletown can bid farewell to their three-game losing streak thanks to their game on Monday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Pine Bush 3-1.
Bethannie French spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits.
On the hitting side, Middletown saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alissandra Soto, who went 1-for-3 with two stolen bases and one run.
Monroe-Woodbury now has a winning record of 6-5. As for Middletown, they now also have a winning record of 6-5.
Middletown's pitching crew has a crucial task ahead of them: Monroe-Woodbury hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .349. It's a different story for Middletown, though, as they've only averaged .236. Will they be able to contain Monroe-Woodbury's hitters?
