VISFA Virginia Commonwealth recap Sept. 26, 2012
Brandon Saxby and Sam Drewicz provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Brunswick Academy. The connection was good for 56 yards, the longest such play in VISFA Virginia Commonwealth this season.
Isle of Wight Academy took down the Vikings 40-14 last week, the largest margin of any game. Saxby threw for 87 yards and two touchdowns and ran for 11 yards in the win.
The Chargers' offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. On the ground Zeb Warnick chipped in 111 yards. L.J. Walter helped Isle of Wight Academy's passing attack out by catching two balls for 12 yards.
Aaron Fronfelter was the best wideout in the league this week as Isle of Wight Academy defeated Brunswick Academy. Fronfelter tallied one reception for 56 yards.
6-foot-0 quarterback Saxby of Dale Chapman's team is the league leader in passing yards this season with 238. He has also thrown six touchdowns. On the ground, Dennis Moore's team's Charles Belmonte has rushed for 525 yards which leads the league. The leading receiver in the league this season is George Flowers. The Kenston Forest star has six catches for 125 yards.
A big matchup in VISFA Virginia Commonwealth this week will be when the Chargers take on Fuqua. Isle of Wight Academy is currently in second, while the Falcons are in fifth.
The Chargers led the league in scoring this week after putting up 40 points on the Vikings. Saxby in the win.
