Kennedy dropped their record down to 4-4 on Friday, which also ended the team's three-game streak of wins. They lost 11-1 to the Naugatuck Greyhounds. The Eagles were red-hot at the plate heading into the matchup (they scored no less than ten runs in the three contests prior), but the Greyhounds' pitchers proved too tough.

As for Naugatuck, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-7. Their offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last three games.

For Naugatuck's part, Leah Chatfield was a major factor no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out 14 over seven innings pitched. Chatfield has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in nine consecutive appearances. She was also stellar in the batter's box, getting on base in four of her five plate appearances with two triples and three RBI. That's the most triples she has posted since back in May of 2024.

In other batting news, Carly Luchina was incredible, getting on base in all five of her plate appearances with three runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last nine games. Amanda Torrens was another key player, getting on base in three of her five plate appearances with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kennedy will face off against Derby at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Red Raiders have averaged an impressive 9.6 runs per game this season.
