The Waynesburg Central Raiders will venture away from home to face off against the Albert Gallatin Colonials at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Waynesburg Central is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.5 runs per game this season.

On Wednesday, Waynesburg Central made easy work of McGuffey and carried off a 9-2 win. The victory continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Highlanders: they've now won six in a row.

Austin Surber was a major factor no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out eight over six innings pitched. Surber was also big at the plate, going 2-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run.

In other batting news, Derek Turcheck was excellent, going 2-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Grant Pack, who went 1-for-3 with two runs and one RBI.

Meanwhile, Albert Gallatin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They lost 15-1 to Elizabeth Forward.

Albert Gallatin's loss dropped their record down to 4-9-1. As for Waynesburg Central, their win bumped their record up to 12-1.

Waynesburg Central's speedy runners might be the difference in Friday's game. The Raiders have been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 4.8 stolen bases per game. It's a different story for Albert Gallatin, though, as they've been averaging only 0.9 stolen bases. Will they be able to secure the bases, or will Waynesburg Central continue to outrun the ball?

Waynesburg Central skirted past Albert Gallatin 5-3 when the teams last played back in April of 2023. Will the Raiders repeat their success, or do the Colonials have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
