Sonora has enjoyed the comforts of home their last two games, but now they'll head out on the road. They will face off against the Calaveras Red Hawks at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Calaveras took a loss in their last match and will be looking to turn the tables on Sonora, who comes in off a win.
You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Sonora's strategy against the Bears on Friday. Sonora put the hurt on the Bears with a sharp 68-43 win. The game was all but wrapped up at the end of the third, by which point Sonora had established a 20 point advantage.
Meanwhile, Calaveras unfortunately witnessed the end of their four-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a bucket shy of victory and fell 42-41 to Bret Harte.
Sonora's win was their 19th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 17-10. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.8 points per game. As for Calaveras, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-13.
Sonora beat the Red Hawks 40-31 in their previous meeting back in January. The rematch might be a little tougher for Sonora since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
