The Liberty Raiders's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Monday after their sixth straight loss. They took a hard 72-54 fall against Greater Beckley Christian. Liberty has not had much luck with Greater Beckley Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last four times they've met.
Greater Beckley Christian got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Averyk Woodson out in front who scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and three steals. Keegan Davidson was another key contributor, scoring 21 points along with three steals.
Liberty's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Greater Beckley Christian, they pushed their record up to 5-1 with that victory, which was their fifth straight on the road dating back to last season.
Liberty will be playing in front of their home fans against Lincoln County at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in West Virginia (Lincoln County is ranked 105th, while Liberty is ranked 113th). Greater Beckley Christian's road trip will continue as they head out to face Independence on January 12th. Independence is coming into the matchup on a four-game losing streak.
