The biggest upset of the week belonged to St. Monica, who took down 593rd ranked St. Genevieve, 33-21.
Salesian extended the longest winning streak in Santa Fe this week by beating St. Anthony, 48-21. The win marks fourth in a row for the the Mustangs.
Salesian's Jihad Vercher and Jermaine Kelly have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading the league in both passing and receiving yards. Vercher has thrown for 1075 yards this season, while Kelly, a 6-foot-2 receiver, has 15 catches for 365 yards. The Saints' Latrell Flowers leads the league in rushing yards with 815.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when Bellarmine-Jefferson takes on Roddy Hiatt's team. The Guards are in fifth place, while the Mustangs are in first place.
There should be lots of points scored when Bellarmine-Jefferson and Salesian face off this week. The top two offenses in the league, David Machuca's team comes in having scored 199 this season, while the Mustangs have scored 190. The Guards scored 40 points last week as they lost to Malibu.
The Mariners moved up to 697 from 759 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in Santa Fe. A 33-21 win over the Valiants helped St. Monica improve its standing.
