After a string of five wins, the KIPP San Jose Collegiate Wolfpack's good fortune finally ran out on Thursday. They took a 64-54 hit to the loss column at the hands of More. The game was a 29-29 toss-up at halftime, but KIPP San Jose Collegiate was outscored by More in the second.
It was another big night for Tim Selway, who scored 29 points along with seven rebounds and four blocks for More. That makes it three consecutive games in which Selway has scored at least a third of More's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Selway, who scored seven points along with six assists.
KIPP San Jose Collegiate's loss ended a ten-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 11-7. As for More, they have been performing well recently as they've won six of their last eight matches, which provided a nice bump to their 9-5 record this season.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. KIPP San Jose Collegiate will square off against DCP Alum Rock at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. DCP Alum Rock is on a seven-game streak of home wins, KIPP San Jose Collegiate a four-game streak of away wins -- so someone will have to leave a streak behind on the court. More won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against East Palo Alto Academy at 4:30 p.m. on January 19th.
