The Halifax Academy Knights will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against the Legacy Charter Eagles at 7:00 p.m. on January 19th. Both teams come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.
Even though Wildwood scored an imposing 55 points on Wednesday, Halifax Academy still came out on top. Halifax Academy slipped by Wildwood 56-55.
Meanwhile, Legacy Charter had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. They walked away with a 56-49 victory over East Ridge. Given Legacy Charter's advantage in MaxPreps' Florida basketball rankings (they are ranked 284th, while East Ridge is ranked 639th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Legacy Charter got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Jayden Richmond out in front who scored 18 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Emanuel Longchamp, who scored 15 points along with five rebounds.
Halifax Academy's victory was their tenth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-3. They've been dominating during the contests in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 26.4 points. As for Legacy Charter, their win bumped their record up to 9-7.
Halifax Academy couldn't quite finish off Legacy Charter when the teams last played back in January of 2015 and fell 59-57. Thankfully for Halifax Academy, Kole Enright (who scored 22 points along with three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
