Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Galena). They strolled past the Baxter Springs Lions with points to spare on Thursday, taking the game 56-37. The victory was some much needed relief for the Bulldogs as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Galena's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3.

Galena will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Frontenac at 6:00 p.m. on January 10, 2025. After both having extra time off, Baxter Springs and Girard will dust off their jerseys to challenge one another on January 7, 2025. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (Girard has four straight victories, Baxter Springs has 18 straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the court.
