The Skutt Catholic SkyHawks have been a dominant force so far, but they're in the middle of a mini-slump at the moment. They took a 49-42 hit to the loss column at the hands of Omaha Central on Friday. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points Skutt Catholic has scored all season.
Daleron Thomas was his usual excellent self, scoring 16 points along with four steals for Omaha Central. The team also got some help courtesy of DaShawn Prince, who scored eight points along with six assists and five rebounds.
Skutt Catholic's loss dropped their record down to 9-5. As for Omaha Central, the victory was the fifth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 13-3.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Skutt Catholic will challenge the Badgers at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are closely ranked in Nebraska (Bennington is ranked 43rd, while the SkyHawks are ranked 38th). As for Omaha Central, they will head out on the road to square off against the Dragons at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. Gretna knows how to get points on the board -- the squad has finished with flashy point totals in its past three matchups -- so hopefully the Eagles likes a good challenge.
