The Doddridge County Bulldogs will take on the Cameron Dragons at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Doddridge County is coming into the match hot, having won their last seven games.
Even though Doddridge County has not done well against the Eagles recently (they were 1-8 in their previous nine matchups), they didn't let the past get in their way on Friday. Doddridge County strolled past the Eagles with points to spare, taking the game 76-57. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Doddridge County to victory, but perhaps none more so than Landon Thomas, who scored 20 points along with six rebounds and two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Thomas has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Brandon Hileman, who scored 25 points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Cameron gave their fans yet another huge win on Friday. They put the hurt on Notre Dame with a sharp 70-47 win. The win was all the more spectacular given Cameron's disadvantage in MaxPreps' West Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 497th, while the Fighting Irish are ranked 88th).
Doddridge County's win bumped their record up to 10-3. As for Cameron, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-4 record this season.
Doddridge County was dealt a bruising 81-27 defeat at the hands of the Dragons in their previous meeting back in January of 2022. Can Doddridge County avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
