The Columbia Academy Bulldogs suffered their biggest defeat since December 1, 2023 on Monday. They suffered a tough 71-49 loss at the hands of Middle Tennessee Christian. Columbia Academy has not had much luck with Middle Tennessee Christian recently, as the team's come up short the last seven times they've met.
Despite the defeat, Columbia Academy saw an underclassman step up: Haley Collins scored 19 points. Charley Rae Hutchison was another key contributor, scoring 11 points.
Middle Tennessee Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Anna clay Shirley led the charge by scoring 30 points. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Shirley has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Madison Graham, who scored 26 points along with two steals.
Columbia Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-12. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, the win got them back to even at 9-9.
Columbia Academy will look to defend their home court on Tuesday against Grace Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. Grace Christian Academy is looking to tack on another W to their four-game streak on the road. As for Middle Tennessee Christian, they will face off against Battle Ground Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Hopefully Battle Ground Academy focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 17 on Monday.
