Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Springfield walked away with it. They took down the Strath Haven Panthers 26-10 on Friday. The win was just business as usual for the Cougars, who after 13 games remain undefeated this season.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Springfield to victory, but perhaps none more so than Luke Valerio, who rushed for 112 yards and two touchdowns. Those 112 rushing yards gave Valerio a new career-high. Springfield also got a significant boost from Tanner Coll, who ran away from the competition to the tune of 93 yards.
They were just one part of a punishing run game: Springfield was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 224 rushing yards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Strath Haven only rushed for 61.
