The Sand Point Eagles/Lady Eagles's road trip will continue as they head out to face the King Cove T-Jacks and Rookies on February 16th. Sand Point will be strutting in after a win while King Cove will be coming in after a defeat.
Two weeks ago, Sand Point earned a 34-23 win over Lumen Christi.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Sand Point to victory, but perhaps none more so than Arianna Wilson, who scored 17 points along with six rebounds. Wilson is on a roll when it comes to points, as she's now scored 15 or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Misty Marine, who scored seven points along with five rebounds and two steals.
Something new happened two weeks ago as Wilson saw her first action of the season, playing 32 minutes against Lumen Christi. Wilson made the most of the opportunity, scoring 17 points along with six rebounds. A few more games like that and she might be seeing even more time going forward.
Meanwhile, King Cove was beaten by Susitna Valley 57-22 two weeks ago. The result shouldn't come as a shock considering that's the fewest points King Cove has scored all season.
Sand Point's victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-2. As for King Cove, their loss dropped their record down to 3-6.
Sand Point strolled past King Cove in their previous meeting back in January by a score of 45-31. Will Sand Point repeat their success, or does King Cove have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
