The Springfield Tigers waltzed into their contest on Tuesday with seven straight wins but they left with eight. They secured a 74-68 W over Minnesota Valley Lutheran. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Brayden Sturm continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, going 6 for 8 from beyond the arc en route to 31 points and 0 assists. He is on a roll when it comes to points, as he's now scored 22 or more in the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Potter, who scored 13 points along with six rebounds and four steals.
Springfield has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won ten of their last 11 contests, which provided a massive bump to their 12-5 record this season. As for Minnesota Valley Lutheran, their defeat dropped their record down to 14-5.
Springfield and the Mustangs will face off at 6:00 p.m. on February 2nd without much rest after finishing up games yesterday. The timing isn't great for Buffalo Lake-Hector-Stewart: they have been struggling with eight straight losses at home, while the Tigers have snatched up four consecutive wins on the road. Minnesota Valley Lutheran will take on the Thunderbirds at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. Gibbon-Fairfax-Winthrop knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with flashy point totals in its past 15 matchups -- so hopefully the Chargers likes a good challenge.
