Softball Recap: Crockett Wins Going Away Against Onalaska

Crockett won the last time they faced Onalaska and things went their way on Friday too. The Bulldogs blew past the Wildcats 12-6. The result was nothing new for the Bulldogs, who have now won eight matches by six runs or more so far this season.

Alexandra Kane spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and five unearned) runs on seven hits and racked up 11 Ks.

At the plate, Crockett got a massive performance out of Marysol Lopez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. Those five RBI gave Lopez a new career-high. Charlyne Spanihel was another key player, scoring two runs and stealing four bases while going 2-for-4.

Crockett's victory ended a three-game drought at home and bumped them up to 9-6. As for Onalaska, their defeat was their 21st straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-13.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Crockett will take on rival Anderson-Shiro at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Meanwhile, Onalaska is set to face off against their familiar foe New Waverly at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
