After only 24 points in their last game, the Brownfield Cubs made sure to put some points up on the board against the Friona Chieftans on Tuesday. Brownfield breezed by the Chieftans on the road to the tune of 56-27. Brownfield pushed the score to 39-19 by the end of the third, a deficit the Chieftans had little chance of recovering from.
Leading Brownfield to victory were Alliey Coffey and Amery Pauda. Coffey scored 14 points along with eight rebounds and two steals, while Pauda scored 15 points along with six steals. Kayleigh Saldana was another key contributor, scoring seven points along with two blocks.
Brownfield's victory bumped their record up to 14-17. As for Friona, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-19.
Brownfield will be playing in front of their home fans against the Mules at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Muleshoe is no doubt hoping to put an end to a four-game streak of away losses. As for Friona, they will head out on the road to take on the Wildcats at 6:15 p.m. on Friday. Littlefield will be looking to extend their current six-game winning streak.
