After a string of six wins, the Faith Christian Academy Knights's good fortune finally ran out on Tuesday. They fell just short of Maranatha Christian Academy by a score of 62-59. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as Faith Christian Academy came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps's basketball rankings in their respective home states (they are ranked 88th in Missouri, while Maranatha Christian Academy is ranked 297th in Kansas).
Several Knights players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was John Schleeter, who scored 12 points along with six rebounds and two steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Josiah Dull, who scored 15 points along with three steals.
Faith Christian Academy's defeat ended a three-game streak of away wins and brought them to 13-4. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, their win bumped their record up to 7-4.
Faith Christian Academy will take on St. Francis Christian at 4:40 p.m. on Thursday. As for Maranatha Christian Academy, they will be playing at home against Heritage Christian Academy at 8:00 p.m. on Friday.
