It was a good run, but the Tyrone Golden Eagles unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Wednesday. They took a 74-68 hit to the loss column at the hands of Central Mountain. While losing is never fun, Tyrone can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 255th, while Central Mountain is ranked 11th).
Central Mountain's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Brady Myers led the charge by scoring 19 points along with eight rebounds. Myers continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Hunter Hoy was another key contributor, scoring 16 points along with six assists.
Tyrone's defeat ended a four-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 4-2. As for Central Mountain, the win for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Tyrone will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Central at 7:30 p.m. on January 3, 2024. Central Mountain will wrap up 2023 with a road trip to face off against Mifflin County at 1:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
