Arleta is 7-0 against Monroe since September of 2014, and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Friday. The Arleta Mustangs will look to defend their home field against the Monroe Vikings at 3:30 p.m. Arleta will be looking to keep their six-game home win streak alive.
Arleta stacked a fourth blowout onto their ever-increasing hoard on Friday. They blew past North Hollywood 41-15. With Arleta ahead 21-0 at the half, the matchup was all but over already.
Among those leading the charge was Xavier Vega, who rushed for 139 yards and a touchdown on only 11 carries, and also picked up 45 receiving yards. Vega really tore up the turf during one magnificent 78-yard run. Another player making a difference was Kennedy Duran, who threw for 96 yards and two touchdowns on only eight passes.
Meanwhile, Monroe fell victim to Verdugo Hills' stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They took a hard 19-0 fall against the Dons.
Arleta's victory lifted them to 8-1 while Monroe's defeat dropped them down to 2-5.
Arleta was able to grind out a solid victory over Monroe in their previous matchup back in September of 2022, winning 13-3. Will Arleta repeat their success, or does Monroe have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
