The West Point-Beemer Cadets lost against the Pierce Bluejays back in October of 2022, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. West Point-Beemer took a serious blow against Pierce, falling 53-19. The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for West Point-Beemer in their matchups with Pierce: they've now lost eight in a row.
Several Cadets players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Treven Weddle, who rushed for 95 yards and a touchdown.
Keenan Valverde was on fire for Pierce: he rushed for 176 yards and four touchdowns while picking up 9.3 yards per carry. Valverde is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last six games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ben Bolling, who rushed for 73 yards and a touchdown on only seven carries.
West Point-Beemer now has a losing record at 4-5. As for Pierce, their win was their fourth straight on the road, which bumped their overall record up to 7-2.
West Point-Beemer does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Pierce will look to defend their home field on Friday against Roncalli Catholic at 7:00 p.m. Roncalli Catholic is also coming in off of a big victory, so somebody is in for a big reversal of fortune.
