The Valley Catholic Valiants will head out on the road to face off against the Westside Christian Eagles at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams are coming into the contest red-hot, with Valley Catholic sitting on three straight wins and Westside Christian on 12.
Even though De La Salle North Catholic scored an imposing 55 points on Tuesday, Valley Catholic still came out on top. Valley Catholic took their matchup against De La Salle North Catholic 64-55.
Westside Christian posted their biggest win yet this season on Thursday. They took their matchup on the road with ease, bagging a 69-31 win over Portland Adventist Academy. Given Westside Christian's advantage in MaxPreps' Oregon basketball rankings (they are ranked eighth, while Portland Adventist Academy is ranked 86th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Valley Catholic is on a roll lately: they've won five of their last six matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 11-3 record this season. As for Westside Christian, their win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 12-2.
Things could have been worse for Valley Catholic, but things could have been a whole lot better as they took a 67-48 loss to Westside Christian when the teams last played back in February of 2023. Can Valley Catholic avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
