It was a good run, but the South Charlotte T Thunder unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Friday. They received a tough blow as they fell 85-69 to Christ School. While losing is never fun, South Charlotte T can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 242nd, while Christ School is ranked 13th).
South Charlotte T lost despite a true team effort on the offense, the best among them being Luke Rullo, who scored 20 points. Rullo has been hot recently, having posted 19 or more points the last four times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Aaron Hill, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 12 assists.
Christ School's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Jozohn Price led the charge by scoring 14 points along with two steals. As a matter of fact, that's the most points Price has scored all season. Another player making a difference was Bryson Cokley, who scored 12 points along with two steals.
Christ School used a slightly different lineup for their bout with South Charlotte T. And. Bruce White made the most of the opportunity, scoring 13 points along with six rebounds. A few more games like that and he might be seeing even more time going forward.
South Charlotte T's defeat dropped their record down to 18-11. As for Christ School, they pushed their record up to 23-5 with that win, which was their 16th straight at home dating back to last season.
South Charlotte T will face off against Forsyth Home Educators at 9:00 p.m. on Friday. Hopefully Forsyth Home Educators focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 15 on Friday. Christ School does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
