The Mars Fightin' Planets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 38 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They blew past Armstrong 38-0 at home. The result was nothing new for Mars, who have now won six contests by 33 points or more so far this season.
Evan Wright continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, rushing for 132 yards and two touchdowns, while also picking up 49 receiving yards. Wright is on a roll when it comes to rushing yards, as he's now rushed for 100 or more in the last eight games he's played.
Mars has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 6-2 record this season. As for Armstrong, their loss on Friday dropped their record down to 5-3.
Mars will head out on the road to face off against Hampton at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Hampton will have to bring their A-game into this one, as they are staring down a pretty big deficit in the MaxPreps Pennsylvania Rankings (they are ranked 216th, while Mars is ranked 71st). As for Armstrong, they will be playing at home against Highlands at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Highlands is coming into the game on a three-game losing streak.
