While Manitowoc Lincoln's win against De Pere wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Ships won by a set and slipped past the Redbirds 2-1. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Ships have posted against the Redbirds since August 26, 2022.

Abby Weidmayer paced Manitowoc Lincoln's offense, picking up 14 kills. Weidmayer got some help from Cora Foster and her 16 assists. Mollie Junk controlled things from the service line, finishing with five aces.

Despite the defeat, De Pere had strong showings from Mallory Derenne, who had 20 digs and four assists, and Kayli Raygo, who had 11 assists and five digs. With that strong performance, Derenne is now averaging an impressive 10.8 digs per game. Siena Arendt also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

The win made it two in a row for Manitowoc Lincoln and bumps their season record up to 6-1. As for De Pere, the loss snapped their winning streak at three games and leaves them with a 7-3 record.

Manitowoc Lincoln has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 victory against Sun Prairie West on the 30th. As for De Pere, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-0 defeat against Monona Grove on the 30th.
