Stanwood hasn't had much luck against Snohomish recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Spartans are taking a road trip to challenge the Panthers at 4:00 p.m. One thing working in Stanwood's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last seven matchups.
Stanwood will bounce into Wednesday's game after beating Everett, who they had gone 1-8 against in their nine prior meetings. The Spartans were the clear victors by an 11-1 margin over the Seagulls on Monday. Considering the Spartans have won eight contests by more than six runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Reagan Ryan was incredible, going a perfect 3-for-3 with one home run, two stolen bases, and five RBI. Those five RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Jemma Lopez, who went 1-for-2 with two runs, one stolen base, and one double.
Snohomish came out on top against Marysville Getchell on Monday thanks in part to the team's impressive four-run fifth inning. The Panthers never let Marysville Getchell get on the board and left with a 5-0 win. The victory was some much needed relief for the Panthers as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.
The result came thanks to Abby Edwards's shutout, as she gave up just three hits and racked up 15 Ks. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than seven strikeouts any time she's pitched this season.
On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Hannah Siegler, who went 2-for-3 with one run and one RBI. Audrey Ebia was another key player, getting on base in both of her plate appearances with two runs.
Stanwood's win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 10-1. Those road victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 11.0 runs over those games. As for Snohomish, their record is now 8-5.
The batters for both teams will have to hit smart on Wednesday as both have some strikeout artists on the roster. Stanwood has been retiring batters left and right this season, having averaged 10.2 strikeouts per game. However, it's not like Snohomish struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 10.6 strikeouts. Considering how easily both teams rack up Ks, the hitters on both teams better bring their A-game into this one.
Stanwood couldn't quite get it done against Snohomish in their previous matchup back in March of 2024 as they fell 7-4. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
