Philadelphia Public - AAA recap Oct. 30, 2012
Benjamin Franklin was the team that gained the most ground in the standings this week, jumping from 10th to eighth in Philadelphia Public - AAA. Earlier in the week, the Electrons defeated Martin Luther King 46-16.
Simon Gratz moved up to 243 from 276 in the state rankings this week, the biggest jump in the league. The Bulldogs climbed the ranks as a result of defeating Boys' Latin Charter 62-34.
Mastery Charter North's offense was tough to stop this week, as it produced the league's top passer, rusher and receiver. James Johnson threw for 147 yards and Jermaine Norris had 99 yards receiving. On the ground Johnson chipped in 73 yards. Troy Franklin helped Mastery Charter North's passing attack out by catching three balls for 20 yards.
Johnson has thrown for 1033 yards and 11 touchdowns this season, while Norris has 36 catches for 538 yards. Armani Fuller-Williams leads the league in rushing with 429 yards.
A big matchup in Philadelphia Public - AAA this week will be when Boys' Latin Charter takes on Edward Bok Vo-Tech. Boys' Latin Charter is in third place, while the Wildcats are in second place.
Simon Gratz extended the longest winning streak in the league this week by beating Boys' Latin Charter, 62-34. The victory was the ninth in a row for EriK Zipay's team.
