Even though the Seneca Valley Screamin' Eagles scored an imposing 62 points on Wednesday, the Gaithersburg Trojans still came out on top. Gaithersburg snuck past Seneca Valley with a 68-62 win. The win made it back-to-back wins for Gaithersburg.
Despite the loss, Seneca Valley still got an impressive performance from Jaysen Moise, who scored 25 points along with five rebounds and four steals. That was a full 40.3% of Seneca Valley's points, marking the third time in a row he's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Korey Trone, who scored 13 points.
Seneca Valley used a slightly different lineup for their bout with Gaithersburg. And. The pair took full advantage of the opportunity: Zach Johnson scored a point along with five rebounds, while he scored seven points along with two steals.
Gaithersburg's win bumped their record up to 5-10. As for Seneca Valley, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 6-13.
Gaithersburg will square off against Northwest at TBD on Tuesday. As for Seneca Valley, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Clarksburg at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday.
