The Campo Verde Coyotes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won four games by 29 points or more this season. They simply couldn't be stopped on Wednesday as they easily beat North 59-30 on the road. Given Campo Verde's advantage in MaxPreps' Arizona basketball rankings (they are ranked 47th, while North is ranked 129th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Kelsey Watts continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, dropping a double-double on 29 points and 15 rebounds. She continues to roll, besting her previous point total in each of the last four games she's played. Another player making a difference was Bailey Barnes, who scored 12 points.
Xxylina Flores and Ayanna Goode certainly did their best on Wednesday to try and avoid the loss. Flores scored 13 points along with five rebounds, while Goode scored eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals. Flores is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played.
Campo Verde has been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. As for North, they now have a losing record at 6-7.
Campo Verde's road trip will continue as they head out to face Apollo at 6:30 p.m. on December 28th. North won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Fairfax at 3:00 p.m. on December 28th. One thing working in Fairfax's favor is that they have posted big point totals in their last three games.
