Basketball Recap: Heritage Academy Gateway Wins Going Away Against Mission Heights Prep

Heritage Academy Gateway won the last time they faced Mission Heights Prep and things went their way on Thursday too. The Heritage Academy Gateway Heroes blew past the Mission Heights Prep Phantoms 77-57. The Heroes have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five matches by 20 points or more this season.

Jace Harper had an outrageously good game as he went 7 for 15 en route to 17 points in addition to seven steals and five boards. He has been hot for a while, having posted two or more steals the last ten times he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ethan Wright, who posted eight points along with seven rebounds and three steals.

Heritage Academy Gateway smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least nine offensive boards in nine consecutive contests.

Heritage Academy Gateway has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games, which provided a massive bump to their 8-6 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 63.2 points per game. As for Mission Heights Prep, they dropped their record down to 1-8 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road.

Heritage Academy Gateway will be playing in front of their home fans against Varsity Opponent at 7:00 p.m. on January 24th. Mission Heights Prep has already played their next matchup, an 82-30 loss against East Valley Athletes for Christ on the 17th.
