Loyola College Prep had won three straight home games dating back to last season and Bryce Restovich did his part to make it four on Friday. The Flyers put the hurt on the Minden Crimson Tide with a sharp 71-48 win for which the team can thank Restovich, who threw for 513 yards and seven TDs while completing 84.8% of his passes, and also punched in one rushing score. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 307 passing yards per game.
Charlie McKenzie did his part for the team as well, scoring a TD off of 170 receiving yards. He was no stranger to the big play, lighting up the secondary with a catch that went for 65 yards.
Loyola College Prep didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Ty Walsworth and Thomas Gosslee. Another thorn in Minden's side was Wyatt Lofton, who made ten total tackles (3.0 for loss).
Minden lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Jaden Johnson, who threw for 240 yards and a pair of touchdowns, and also rushed for 75 yards on only ten carries. Lucas Owens Jr. was in the mix as well, providing Minden with two scores.
Loyola College Prep's victory bumped their record up to 5-0. As for Minden, they now have a losing record of 2-3.
