The defeat unfortunately continues a disappointing trend for Sacramento Country Day in their matchups with Valley Christian: they've now lost three in a row.
Sacramento Country Day's loss came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Ekram Thiarra, who scored 15 points. Another player making a difference was Ryan Scripps, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 14 rebounds.
Valley Christian had a senior duo take command as Chase Clary scored 31 points along with six assists and six rebounds and Ian Glaspy dropped a triple-double on 21 points, ten rebounds, and 11 assists. Clary hasn't dropped below two steals for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Malachi Urena, who scored 13 points along with five rebounds and two blocks.
Sacramento Country Day has not been sharp recently as the team's lost eight of their last nine contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 8-12 record this season. As for Valley Christian, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 16-9.
